The Secret of Cold Approach…

To be successful in this game you must first learn to open a cold approach set. I have opened more sets than I can count but my best estimate is over 10,000 cold approach sets.
When I first moved to Vegas almost 5 years ago, I went out 7 days a week for at least 4 hours a day and just opened and ran sets constantly. There are endless sets in Vegas so someone could easily open hundreds of sets a day in only a few short hours. The sets are not just in the clubs here, but literally everywhere on the Strip.
When I first started in the game I used the David Bowie opener and the 80s song opener. I used these openers so many times that girls called me out on it weeks later.
One time Mystery and I were walking through Treasure Island several years ago and a girl walked by me, pointed at me and said, “Hey, it’s the David Bowie guy!” I had no idea who she was but she certainly recognized me from the opener that I had run on several hundred sets.
I stopped using opinion type openers after a while because I realized that opinion openers are too long. The set would take a long time to give their opinion and sometimes I never was able to transition into attraction material. I was in fact “milking” the opener. You should never milk your opener. Most new guys spend too much time on the opener and sometimes don’t even transition into attraction material. They get blown out on the opener because it is too long, boring, etc.
Since I started using Mehow’s direct opener’s, I never get blown out on the opener anymore.
And, the reason is simple:
The openers I use are very short and I transition directly into attraction immediately after the opener without hesitating.
The only purpose of the opener is to open the set so you can transition into attraction material. I soon found that the best openers are the shortest. A good example is “You guys seem fun, I just wanted to come say hi!” Try using these short and direct openers and you will get results!
The most important thing when opening is your:
- Body Language
- Voice Tonality
- And, Facial Expressions.
You should smile before you open or say anything. You should use a warm, friendly tone while body rocking in and out of the set, which is a nonverbal false time constraint. This gives the appearance that you are leaving and not staying long. This nonverbal false time constraint can be coupled with a verbal false time constraint such as “I can only stay for a second, I have my friends here.”
When opening, it is much more important how you say something than what you actually say. So many guys get caught up in and stuck on the opener. If you are looking for the perfect opener there isn’t one. Direct openers work well to open the set, as long as you transition immediately into your attraction material.

I heard his game is shit. Apparently Savoy didn’t want Hawaii to be teaching for his company but he then started teaching for Mystery’s company after the split.
Considering how much most Love Systems instructors suck, if this guy is even below that level then what is the deal of you teaching together with him?

I like this. The outline is good. One thing though. I get the feeling that opinion openers are, instead of opening, are used in either step 2, 3, or 4. But, it does save time if you open a set with, “You guys look fun,” and get a “Fuck Off!”

it is just what I heard. I mean I was just wondering about that, because I heard Savoy didn’t want him teaching and that he was teaching in VA because he is Mystery’s assistant and because their standards for teachers are really really low (see Joe D, Kosmo and all those people who worked for them…). Who knows why? Maybe it had nothing to do with teaching…
If you say he is normal and has game then that would mean he is better than 99% of instructors in the community:) …I take back my comment then.

I tried this method at day game but it didn’t work so well…
future, past projection seems no in the place when you are not in the nightclub.
kino is not the same as in the nightclub as well… it’s much more slow and sometimes no kino at all and plus you cannot be very damn happy all the time cuz it’ll look pretty freaky.
am I wrong?

The big secret to day game is to have a normal conversation with embedded attraction elements. E.g. you have to have a sense of humor, the ability to vibe, a decent sense of fashion, good grooming, etc. If there’s a big secret to day game it’s figuring out how to bounce women to other locations once you get attraction.
You only need to smile when you approach, but it’s not that necessary. So long as your body language and tonality is pretty good, you can still open with high success. Just do yourself a favor to get good at day game. DO NOT ever go for the phone number until after you bounce. Ever. No exceptions. Why? If you get good at number closing w/o bounce, the next thing you’ll find is a ginormous flake rate that will make all your work worthless.

Hey Mehow, the Customs Office has my DVDs, they want the bill so they can check if the DVDs are worth more than 1000 euro. I tried to contact your support but I dont get an answer, since I don’t exactly have an evidence of payment else than the transaction ID from paypal with no further product information, so I guess that one wont help much. If you please could send me the bill to my email adress so I can give it to them, it would be really great. They will charge me fees after one week if I dont do so. I sent you the paypaltransaction ID already but I can send it another time if theres the need to.

I use the same game during the day as in the clubs with a few exceptions.
1. I keep a much greater distance
2. I slow everything down and use lower energy
3. I use less kino
I use C& F, bantering and teases and future and past projections, just not the outrageous ones and I tone them down a bit.
I still use some kino, but if I do the group 3-7 for example, I get them to sit down first because it looks weird standing in the middle of the mall. I will do pinky swears, high 5s, and other light kino.
As for being very damn happy, I just try to be warm, happy, positive and playful all the time, day or night.

Normally I would never respond to anything like your comment, but I would like to set the record straight.
1. Yes, I was Mystery’s Personal Assistant for a short time but that was over 3 1/2 years ago and it only lasted a few months. In that time and beyond I traveled and taught at over 25 bootcamps with Mystery, Matador and others at the old company and learned alot and my game improved.
2. You are somewhat correct, Savoy did not initially want me teaching for the company, but BEFORE the company did split, I did begin teaching my own bootcamps with the old company as lead instructor with Savoy’s approval. In fact, after the Vegas superconference, Savoy was happy with my instruction as I saved over a half dozen guys from asking for a refund when all of the other famous instructors slacked. Right before I resigned from the old company, I was allowed, by Savoy, to post bootcamps anywhere I wanted and in any city and I had 3 Vegas programs of my own on the schedule as lead instructor. Bottom line, since that time and the company’s split, I have taught at nearly 50 bootcamps and several hundered students and my game has improved much since what you heard about over 3 years ago.
3. VA’s standards for instructors are now very high

Mehow, GET KAMOUFLAGE ON THE INSIDER!!!
I have heard very good things from that guys game. I know you have “backwards engineed” stuff from his mid game for your 10ssa etc but it would be great to see more from him and see all the subtle stuff he is doing.
Instead of letting useless fags like Vince Kelvin or that stupid myspace guy ruin the quality of the product JUST GET KAMOUFLAGE ON FOR A FEW MONTHS STRAIGHT!

First of all i want to thank HaWaii for the value posted here.
In my view of the world and of the game guys adopt styles , identitys of the gurus that dont have any spot for congruance with their own beeing.It is good to have a plan but it is also good to know who you are , to work on your trash that you have in your head , to work on the other areas of your life and actually starting enjoying pickup like it should be….VERY EASY.
On working and not working it depends on everyone style , me personally i am very direct and sexual(cavemaning) no Bullshit but i must say what works for me could not work for you.
Regarding day-game i had a completly different view of the world right now because a friend of mine showed me a completly new reality based on his view of the world , this guy entered sets kiss closing, i saw him beeing kicked out like 20 times by a 10 and at 21st he grabs his fucking head and close the deal….the girl went all submissive and it was done.So everything works, i was shocked too but thats the World, there is alot of shit out there that we dont know and perceive as imposible until a guy comes along and proves you are wrong.
Keep Learning , Enjoy the Journey and never forget where you came from because you cant be better nor less than anyone else..just you

Very nice. I agree with you, the opener shouldn’t be too long. I think it could be a little bit long like a Shocker, though – those things work. But I’ve never used opinino opener because I knew it would take too long.

I agree with you about opinion openers. They are so … five years ago. Too long, too awkward, not natural. These days I’m so into non-verbal seduction that often the fewer words the better. I’d much rather see guys work on their presence than on what they are going to say or do.

1. Why isn’t Hawaii on infield insider?
2. Infield insider could be a lot better. Infield should be the best product out there – it’s infield – but it’s not. It’s a lot less useful than it could be.
Why?
ATM its like David Deangelo interviews. Versus the MM interview series (or no doubt any, practical interview series).
The interviews are useless puff pieces. Even when they’re useful they’re not. A chunk of candy not a whole meal.
The focused, topic based interview series is *somewhat* more useful.
Although because it isn’t infield it is still crap.
So I was watching Action Jackson recently. This was the first time I have come near to buying any guests product.
Although not the best guest, this is the most useful, appliable insider yet. Perhaps the best issue.
So what did AJ do right?
Well he had his thing, he worked out what he wanted to show (and teach me), then he executed that.
The last time we had someone doing that was Ryan Stocks, who sat down at the narration with a visible adgenda to teach something – his thing. He’d thought it out in advance. Pretty bad footage, but obviously one of the brightest people on it. He understood the medium and what I want.
No one else is bothering, and so insider is much MUCH less than it should be.
Take Hyponitca, he is brutally direct, and it is new and interesting to watch. He gets girls emotionally reacting to him hardcore, and that makes him fun.
However fun does not equal closes often.
So we just see an unusually different approach. So what?
What is valueable about Hypnotica is his interactive Hypnotic tree IVDs.
That gets him closes.
We see it once at the car.
Come on!
You should have him going out and trying to run ‘his thing’, in every set. The footage would be 10 times more valuable, more people would be motivated to go and try it. It is a waste.
You need to push guests to have a plan, something unique, a unique topic, or feature of their game that they excel at, then have them try and run set after set show casing that.
People should be attributing infield insider with improving their game. ‘I did this, I got it from Mehow’s insider….’
But due to flawed execution it is presently info-tainment.
Unless you get lucky and get a guru who isn’t mentally disabled like AJ.
Mehow sort it out.
Forget the guru. Ask them to theme their episode. Can’t theme it? Won’t theme it? Yeah we’ll get to you next month then.
Sets on the DVD should not be named after the girls, but after the technique showcased.
If you aren’t able to do that, then you are failing to make the best product you should be.

From my experience, the best openers are either honest … like mehow’s direct opener, or what I call “attention grabbers”, which literally hijack people’s attention because of the way our brains work, stuff like:
“guess what”
“do you happen to know who/what/why”
“hey (listen)”
“wait a minute, check this out”
“by the way”
“oh man, you’ll never believe what…”
They don’t even have to really make sense with what you’re saying, but they do get people’s attention.
Also if I was going to do an OPINION opener, I’d try to mix it up with a bit of off-topic stalling and teasing, instead of just launching into the story.
